In 1999 The Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation established a "Matching Funds" program to create permanent endowments for the benefit of Children and Youth in community recreation.
In 2001 Community Foundation set aside $50,000.00 of its newly acquired funds to be used for this program. The Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation then provided a grant of $46,471.95.
The Ontario Endowment for Children & Youth in Recreation Fund is available for grants to qualified donees for recreational projects and programs for children and youth in the Campbellford/Seymour community. See Grants Awarded below.

Campbellford District High School, in partnership with KPRDSB, received a grant of $2,856 to upgrade their volleyball equipment.
The Rotary Club of Campbellford received a $4,000 grant, with $3,500 of the funding coming from the OECYR Fund, for the installation of an accessible swing at Kennedy Park.
Campbellford District High School, in partnership with KPRDSB, received a $3,000 grant for their football program.
A Mini Grant Program was initiated, with applicants applying for funding for projects from our established "Field of Interest" Funds, this fund being one of them. Campbellford District High School received two Children & Youth in Recreation mini grants - $1,000 to purchase a squat rack for their exercise room, and $2,000 to purchase a protable event tent. Hillcrest Public School received $1,775 to update their indoor volleyball nets and poles.
Campbellford Minor Hockey Association, in partnership with the Municipality of Trent Hills, received a $4,000.00 grant to purchase new hockey jerseys.
A $15,000.00 grant was awarded to the Municipality of Trent Hills to purchase youth sports equipment for the new Field House in Hastings.
A $1,000.00 HATCH grant was awarded to both Kent Public School and St. Mary Catholic Elementary School to replace old, damaged and missing sports equipment.
Hillcrest Public School received a $5,000.00 grant to refurbish their baseball diamond.

Campbellford District High School received $3,000.00 as part of a $15,000.00 grant to re-establish the football program.
$2,000.00 was granted to the Campbellford & District Curling and Racquet Club as part of a $4,670.00 grant to purchase curling stones for the youth curling program.
Hillcrest Public School was granted $5,000.00 as part of a $10,000.00 grant for a playground renewal project.
Kent Public School received $5,000.00 to refurbish their baseball diamond.
Hillcrest Public School received $2000.00 as part of a $8,500.00 grant to purchase musical instruments for the school.
Kent Public School received $2,000.00 as part of a $4,800.00 grant to refurbish playground equipment to comply with safety standards.
The Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus Parade Fund received $1,000.00 as part of a $3,500.00 grant to refurbish the Santa Clause parade float and purchase a new Santa suit.
$5,000.00 was granted to Campbellford District High School to fund the rejuventation of the High School's soccer field.
Campbellford/Seymour Agricultural Society received $968.00 as part of a $6,000.00 grant to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Campbellford fair.
$2,000.00 was granted to Kent Public School to fund the planting of 8 new shade trees on the school grounds.
